The name

One word, holding both halves of the exchange.

womentor already contains both words. They share the same three letters in the middle, so neither can be lifted out without the other — which is roughly the arrangement we are after.

Almost everyone here is both. She mentors on the thing she already survived, while looking for help with the thing in front of her this week.

What are you navigating?

Forty-two of them, drawn from workplace research and from the parts of work that research usually skips.

Pick anything that sounds like your week.

Who is here

A crew chief, a chef, a chief of staff.

Mentoring is not a corporate word here. The women below work on sites, in kitchens, at sea, in labs and in boardrooms.

Rosa Delgado

Master electrician · Runs a 12-person crew

PhoenixSkilled Trades21 years

Twenty-one years in, I own the company and I still get asked to fetch the foreman. I can help you price a job so you stop underbidding, and handle a site where you are the only woman on it.

Professional kitchens run on shouting and I refuse to. It took me years to prove that a calm pass is a faster pass. Ask me about brigade politics, hours that eat your life, and running a kitchen your way.

The gap that matters is not the ceiling, it is the first rung into management. I sit in the rooms where those promotions get decided, and I can tell you what is said about candidates who do not get them.

Six weeks on, six weeks off, and for most of those years the only woman aboard. Ask me about isolated workplaces, rotational work with a family, and holding rank when it is not automatically given.

Pitched 94 investors before one said yes. I kept the notes. If you are raising and being asked questions the men in the room are not asked, I can help you prepare for exactly those.

Retrained into nursing at 42 · Now an NP

I sold insurance until I was 41. Retraining with a mortgage and two teenagers was the hardest thing I have done, and entirely possible. Ask me about funding, timelines, and being the oldest one on placement.

How it works

Four steps, then a conversation.

  1. 01

    Say what you're navigating

Pick from 42 challenges — from asking for a raise to being the only woman on the crew to starting over in a new country.

  2. 02

    See who has been there

Mentors are ranked by how much of your list they actually cover, with the overlap shown on every card.

  3. 03

    Start one conversation

Send a short note. She can accept or decline — declining is normal, and you never see a reason.

  4. 04

    Keep what's useful

Star the messages that help. Come back to a mentor when the next thing happens, or find a different one.

What you get

A room, not an audience.

There is no feed here and no profile to keep up. The whole product is: find the right woman, say the true thing, keep what helped.

  • Matched by what you're facing

Not by industry or seniority. You pick the challenge; we surface the women whose experience covers it.

  • A private room, not a feed

Every conversation is 1:1 and closed. Nothing is posted, nothing is public, nobody is performing.

  • Save what actually helps

Star a message and it lands in Saved, so the sentence that unlocked something is there in six months.

  • Report, and be taken seriously

Both sides can report at any point, from inside the conversation. Reports go to a human, not a queue.

Questions

The ones people actually ask.

  • You choose the challenges you are navigating. Mentors are scored on how much of your list their lived experience covers — so a mentor who has been through both of your two things ranks above one with twenty unrelated expertise tags. The overlap is shown on every card, so you can see why someone appeared.

  • No, and that is deliberate. The challenge list covers trades, kitchens, wards, sites, studios and shops alongside corporate careers. A second-year apprentice electrician and a marketing director are both in the right place here.

  • Yes. Every conversation is a closed 1:1 room between two people. Nothing is posted publicly, there is no feed, and other members cannot see your conversations or who you are talking to.

  • There is a report control in every conversation, for both people. Reports go to a person who reads them. You can also leave a conversation at any point without giving a reason, and the other person is not told why.

  • Star any message the other person sent and it appears in your Saved tab, with the conversation it came from. It is for the sentence you will want again in six months, when the same situation comes round.

  • Any woman who has navigated something specific and is willing to talk about it honestly. You do not need a title, a certification, or a coaching qualification. You need to have been there.

  • No. You can sign in with an email link, and connect LinkedIn separately if you want your profile to carry that verification. Plenty of the work represented here does not live on LinkedIn at all.

  • Yes, and many are. Most women are mentoring on the thing they already survived while looking for help with the thing in front of them right now.

Someone has already been where you are.

It takes about two minutes to say what you are dealing with and see who comes back.
